No, I've not been to his site in a really long while.

Right on g! Cain offered "some of the fruits of the soil" as though it was all he could spare. God got the leftovers. But Abel offered the "fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock". It was the best of best. God got his bit first. It's a reminder to me not to play games with God. He wants first place in all my life, and not be someone tagged on at the edges. He requires much more than an hour on Sunday. I'm challenged and inspired by C.T. Studd, a famous English missionary to China, India and Africa, who said, "If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice is too great for me to make for Him." As God then said to Cain, "If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?".

Btw, have you seen RLP's "How to Read the Bible" video series at his site?

Stumped about the Cain thing myself. Abel's offering was a "firstborn". Perhaps Cain's fruits weren't "first" fruits? I dunno.
